Burnout & Nervous System Regulation

For people who have spent so long holding it all together that they're no longer sure how much longer they can.

From the outside, things may look fine. You're still showing up. You're still getting things done. People may even describe you as capable, dependable, or successful.

But underneath, something feels different. You're exhausted in a way that rest doesn't seem to fix. Small things feel harder than they used to. You find yourself running on autopilot, pushing through, or wondering why everything suddenly feels like so much effort.

If this sounds familiar, you're not alone. Burnout is not a personal failure, and it isn't simply a matter of trying harder, being more disciplined, or taking a better vacation. Often, it's what happens when a nervous system has been carrying too much for too long.

What this work looks like

Burnout is often talked about as a workplace problem, but in my experience, it tends to be bigger than that. It can emerge from years of caregiving, chronic stress, chronic illness, perfectionism, people-pleasing, over-responsibility, or simply being the person everyone relies on.

Our work together focuses on understanding how your nervous system has adapted to these demands and helping you develop a different relationship with stress, pressure, and productivity.

Drawing from evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), and nervous system-informed interventions, we'll explore the patterns that may be keeping you stuck in cycles of over-functioning and depletion.

This is not about becoming a different person. It is not about forcing positivity, optimizing every aspect of your life, or learning how to tolerate increasingly unsustainable circumstances.

Instead, we work toward greater awareness, flexibility, self-compassion, and alignment with what actually matters to you. Along the way, we may explore boundaries, values, relationships, perfectionism, self-worth, rest, and the beliefs that make it difficult to slow down.

The goal is not to eliminate stress from your life. The goal is to change your relationship to it so it no longer runs your life.

This work may be right for you if...

  • You're constantly tired, even when you get enough sleep.

  • You feel overwhelmed by responsibilities that once felt manageable.

  • You're the person everyone depends on, and you're beginning to resent it.

  • You've become disconnected from things that used to bring you joy.

  • You struggle to slow down without feeling guilty.

  • You're functioning, but only barely, and you're tired of living that way.

  • You've spent years putting everyone else's needs ahead of your own.

  • You want support that goes deeper than productivity hacks or stress-management tips.

  • You're curious about the connection between your mind, body, and nervous system.
